Description - A truly superb Antique Full Hunting Pocket Watch. Circa 1890.

The case & dust jacket are solid 14ct yellow gold, made by the "Roy" Watch case manufacturing company .

The company started operations in Brooklyn New York in 1885 , they became one of the largest manufacturers of fine quality 14ct and 18ct solid gold watch cases . They operated from 1885 to 1929. The case number is 295195 and the "Roy" maker's mark dates the case to circa 1885 - 90

Originally it was plain smooth solid 14ct yellow gold, but at a later point in its life the trefoil was engraved and set with old cut diamonds.

The watch case is 35mm round with convex back & front covers. The case is plain except for the back case having a trefoil design set with three .11 carat old fashion brilliant cut G/H VS Natural diamonds. The case is in very good condition.

The watch dial is white enamel with black Arabic numerals and a subsidiary second dial at the six position. The hands are black, &  the dial is also in very good condition.

The movement is by the well renowned " Longines" watch company . Movement number - 1203864

according to this number the watch was made in 1890. "Longines " are well known for their superior watches.

It is crown wind and set, has a Swiss club tooth lever escapement with a bimetallic balance wheel and has 15 jewels.

The movement is operating and at this point keep good time.

We do suggest with all of these antique time pieces that they are serviced every couple of years and treated gently as they so deserve.

This full hunting pocket watch is pure quality, from the maker of the 14ct gold case to having the "Longines " Swiss movement, a superb example of a Very Fine Quality  Antique Time Piece. 133 years of age.
