Description - A wonderful " MIZPAH" antique brooch, assayed in Birmingham in 1904.

"MIZPAH" comes from the Hebrew word for " Watchtower" " loosely interpreted " May God Watch Over You"

" MIZPAH" jewellery was most often given to your beloved when a long separation was in the foreseeable future. It represented a wonderful emotional bond between two people.

This beautiful brooch is crafted in 9ct rose gold, it has a crescent shaped bar with hollow construction and the raised lettering "MIZPAH".

The ends of the crescent is set with six in total 1.5mm to 1.8mm half seed pearls.

A beautiful comet spray design is set with six 2.0mm to 3.0mm round red garnet topped doublets.

The brooch has a 9ct rose gold safety chain.

The pin closure to the rear is metal.

A beautiful brooch that would look wonderful on a shirt or jacket lapel, steeped in history this certainly is a lovely Antique piece to add to a collection.

The brooch measures 45mm or 4.5cm in length, the garnet topped doublets & half seed pearls are secure in their settings and all appear original to the piece.
