Description - A wonderful piece of jewellery history by the renowned English Jeweller Charles Horner,  Assay dated Chester 1909.  These Art Nouveau Pendant necklaces have become highly collectable,.

Charles Horner started his career in the 1850's and later purchased a retailing & watchmaking business at 23 Northgate Halifax.

In 1884 Charles Horner patented his " Dorcas " thimble, previously thimble's had been made from soft silver, but he sandwiched  strong steel layers & silver together to create these new thimbles.

Charles had six sons two of whom came into the business Charles Henry Horner & James Dobson Horner, they produced beautiful silver jewellery & ornaments among their better known jewellery lines were the gorgeous enamelled pendants / necklaces, twisted silver wire and glass paste knot brooches & hat pins.

This lovely art nouveau sterling silver drop pendant has the crisp hallmarks to the verso & CH for Charles Horner assayed Chester 1909.

The  drop pendant measures 60mm including bale by 34mm at widest point.

The top circular drop is a rich cobalt blue with fine texturing beneath the enamel , the bottom drop is a gorgeous mixture of iridescent green & cobalt blue, again with fine texturing beneath the enamel.

The enamelling is in fantastic condition no chips or any missing, the necklace is in wonderful condition.

The chain is also sterling silver marked 925 & is 46cm in length .

A truly wonderful example of Art Nouveau enamelled jewellery, by Charles Horner also being assayed in Chester makes this a highly desirable piece for the collector.

This beautiful drop pendant & chain is in exceptional condition for its 115 years.
