Description - A beautiful Edwardian Bangle, assayed in Chester in 1907, a truly wonderful antique treasure.
The Chester Assay office closed in the early 1960's so pieces that were assayed there have become highly collectable.
The bangle is made in 9ct rose gold, it carries the crisps hallmarks & Maker's mark for T&G 9.375 Chester 1907
The bangle is oval in shape, is hinged & has a safety chain , the front is approx 12mm wide & features eleven Garnet topped doublets which are a gorgeous bright raspberry colour and are bead set, interspaced between the doublets are eight tiny rose cut diamonds TLB in colour with I2 clarity.
The underside of the bangle is approx 7mm wide. & has engraved old script initials , arrows & the date 1908 beautifully hand engraved on the upper & lower bars of the bangle.
The push in clasp works as it should closing with a resounding snap & there is the added security of a safety chain in place.
Under a jeweller's loupe two of the garnet topped doublets have a very small chip, only viewed with magnification, age related wear which is to be expected. This does not effect the look or wearability of this gorgeous antique piece.
The bangle is oval in shape with an internal circumference of 16cm,
On the wide side it is 55mm x 50mm diameter with a 52mm opening
Widest it opens out too is 77mm
Being oval in shape it fits comfortably on the wrist.
This is a beautiful example of an Edwardian bangle the garnet doublets are so striking against the soft rose hue of the gold.
A wonderful antique piece, that looks stunning on the arm & certainly is a treasure , to add to a collection or maybe to start one with.
