Description - A wonderful Antique treasure, pieces like this exquisite solid 9ct yellow & pink gold Ladies evening purse rarely come  up for sale, especially ones this size, weight 94.7 grams or in such lovely condition.

This evening purse carries the London assay office import marks for 1909 on the outer frame, hallmarked also on the chain links, & to the verso of the frame.

The upper frame of the purse is 12.2cm x 3.5cm the length of the purse from top edge of frame to bottom row of balls is 7.5cm.

The body is chain-mail mesh with the bottom edge having a row of 2.3mm balls and measures 12.2cm x 7.7mm.

The handle has an oval link chain, with 9ct stamped links.

The strong solid 9ct gold frame holds the incredibly made mesh body of the purse. The feeling of the mesh is fluid and wonderfully tactile.

The clasp closes securely with a resounding snap.

The chain, frame, mesh, clasp & fringe are all solid 9ct gold.

This superb Edwardian piece, is so beautifully made a wonderful testament to the skills & craftsmanship of the early goldsmith.

A very fine piece to add to a collection, this would make a wonderful family heirloom, maybe for a bride to carry on her wedding day, it certainly is an exquisite antique treasure.

My gemologist notes in his valuation that this purse is in very good condition, there are no issues to note.

The valuation represents what you would expect to pay in a bricks & mortar situation, I have seen two other listed for sale, both at over $12,000 so I believe my price is excellent .
